Spanish b and v: same sound, English v is the giveaway
In Latin American Spanish, b and v share a phoneme. Why labiodental English v on vino marks an accent, and how to keep the lips the same.

Same phoneme
Spanish b and v are the same sound family. After a pause or nasal you get a firmer [b]; between vowels a soft [β] — lips almost touch, with a light buzz. English v (teeth on lip) does not belong here.
*vino* with English *v* is an instant tell. Think *bino* with soft lips, not English *vino*.
Drill
Same lips for b and v: *vino*, *vamos*, *bebé*, *había*. Soften between vowels; keep a clearer stop after *m* or at the start of a phrase.
Record *Me gusta el vino* in the trainer and listen for a labiodental scrape that Spanish does not want.
